What’s the difference between myLavish and Lavish Event Décor? Why are there two separate Instagram accounts? Are they both considered Lavish?
These are all questions you’ve probably had if you’ve ever come across our brand. We know this because these are questions that we are frequently faced with.
So, we thought it was time we quickly introduced to you who this “Lavish” company is and clear up some understandable confusion.
First, it would be best to introduce you to our parent company, the brand that holds it all together; the Lavish Event Company.
As you will find on our About page, the Lavish Event Company is an amalgamation of three very successful wedding vendors brought into one house. Those three companies would then form the two divisions of the Lavish Event Company: myLavish and Lavish Event Décor.
Let’s begin with myLavish. my Lavish Event began as a stand-alone company created by a group of cousins seeking to provide a truly personal wedding planning and coordination service. Over time, it started to become an all-in-one destination for all your wedding needs. Motivated by our clients unapologetic appreciation for our caring and overachieving service, we soon felt it was time we offered our couples something more.
And thus, the Lavish Event Company was born, and with it, its newest division: Lavish Event Décor. An extension to our Lavish brand, this new division would expand our capabilities to transform venues and offer an unmatched selection of decor.
Of course, we would be remiss if we were to simply say our foray into event décor was solely on our own. We wouldn’t have had the courage to take the leap if it were not for a long-time friend and experienced event decorator joining our team and growing with us. And that is how Ruben’s Wedding Service, the second of three businesses, became a part of the Lavish Event Company.

We’ll take a deeper dive into the history of Ruben’s Wedding Services in a future post but we’ll leave you with a quick recap for now. Ruben’s was created over 30 years ago by the father of one of our partners, when he first came to Canada as an immigrant. Building the business from scratch, he eventually grew the brand to be one of the most reputable wedding vendors in the industry. As his family grew, he would slowly hand the business over to his son, Andrew. Inspired by his fathers’ success, Andrew was set on growing his family’s legacy, expanding their horizons and claiming the throne as the premium wedding decorator in Toronto.

And finally, as if it were a sign from God that we were on the right path, an opportunity of a lifetime arrived on our doorstep and catapulted our small company into the upper ranks of the event décor world with our acquisition of Luxury Event Décor’s entire inventory. Once a premier décor vendor, Luxury Event Décor built a name for themselves with their truly unique structures and one-of-a-kind décor.
Together with our existing inventory, we are now proud to boast one of the largest selections of event décor available in Toronto! From towering castles to golden temples, there is a limitless world of possibilities awaiting your direction.
While we are unbelievably grateful and inexplicably excited for what lays ahead, we stay true to what brought us here in the first place. And that is our commitment to treat every couple that walks through our doors as an extension of our family.
To summarize, the Lavish Event Company is comprised of two divisions: myLavish and Event Décor. myLavish is our personalized wedding planning and coordination service while Lavish Event Décor is, you guessed it, our specialized team of event decorators.
Three successful wedding vendors brought together under one roof to create a seamless experience filled with limitless options to realize your dream exactly as you’ve envisioned it.
